Farewell to The Jaggernaut and Bloguin

Written by Adam Stites on .

When I founded TheJaggernaut.com it was with the intention to run the site for several years and build the site into one of the finest Jaguars blogs on the internet. However, after only a few months as manager of the site, I am stepping down from my post and turning it over to the very capable Shane Clemons.

I will instead be writing as the co-manager of Big Cat Country, the site at which I was editor-in-chief prior to joining up with Bloguin. I would like to stress how great Bloguin was to me and for me during my few months with the network and how happy I was with them as my host network. To any bloggers looking to get their start, Bloguin is as good as it gets.

The most resounding reason for my leave from Bloguin to return to SB Nation is the sentimental value that Big Cat Country holds to me. It was there that I first started blogging and fell in love with sports writing. The opportunity to return to the site that made me the writer I am today and be a manager was one that I spent a lot of time debating before eventually accepting.

Luckily for the readers, the site is in good hands with Shane. He is an experienced blogger that has written for Big Cat Country, Jaguars Gab and Bloguin's AFC South Daily. I'm positive that as manager of The Jaggernaut, the site will reach greater heights.

Thank you for reading and I hope you will continue to read Shane's great work. Go Jaguars!

At the Jaguars’ “Evening with the Coaches” event on Wednesday, coach Del Rio and his assistant coaches addressed fans. Del Rio let it slip that to the Florida Times Union owner Wayne Weaver is opening the vault in free agency, despite a history of free agent busts.

“Wayne made very clear he is going to be a player going into the free-agent market,” he said.

The Top 25 Jaguars: Players of 2011 (25-21)

Written by Adam Stites on .

NFL Network is in the midst of ranking the top 100 players in the NFL, as voted for by the players. So far they have released players 100-41 and not a single Jaguars player has made the list. It would appear very likely that the only player that will eventually make the list is RB Maurice Jones-Drew.

Despite the strong performances of Terrance Knighton and Marcedes Lewis last season, it's very unlikely that either will sneak their way into the top 40. Big market bias? Perhaps.

Instead I'll whet my rankings appetite by ranking the top 25 Jaguars. The longevity of a career in Jacksonville and the potential for growth in the future are both thrown out the window for these as they are rankings that stack up players in terms of how the play right now. Here are players 25-21:
