I'm not sure how I missed this, but I stumbled across it while surfing youtube, and it's a great video.

ESPN released a pre-draft set of power rankings, ranking the Jaguars at a lowly 27th position.

Are the Jaguars a top 10 team? No, not as they stand right now, but they aren't the 27th best team in the NFL. That's a fact.

The Jaguars were ranked ahead of just the Dolphins, Rams, Browns, Vikings, and the Colts. Some of the teams I feel the Jaguars should be ranked above are the Redskins, Buccaneers, Bills, and the Seahawks.

I had a number of other issues with ESPN's power rankings as well. In my mind, the Raiders (26th) got a bad ranking, and the Chiefs (17th) were unbelievably high.

The other notable feature is that the Giants were ranked as at number 1, despite the explanation indicating they aren't the best team in the NFL, "The Giants have lost significant pieces from their Super Bowl team and won only nine regular-season games in 2011, but they are the defending champs. They will be the team to beat. (Fox)"

Despite my complete disagreement with these rankings on a number of fronts, don't expect me to lose any sleep over them.

What keeps me up at night is the number "41." That's how many "likes" The Jaggernaut has on Facebook. That number has been the same for a few days, and that needs to change.

This is a great letter by this site's founder, Adam Stites, to Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan.

"Giving up a 4th round pick for a third string quarterback who would play no more than five snaps a game as a role player is a joke, but it's not the trade compensation that's the issue. It's the notion that you would be willing to circumvent the decisions of the professional talent evaluators you have in place to make a decision that has no intent to make the Jacksonville Jaguars a better football team."

In case you were fortunate enough to miss it, yesterday was one of the most extraordinary days in the history of the Jaguars. First the Jets traded for Tebow, then language in Tebow's contract held up the deal, but at the end of the day, the trade went through.

The Jets may have ultimately landed Tim Tebow, but make no mistake about it, the Jacksonville Jaguars are the big winners in the madness yesterday.

I was, and still am, annoyed to say the least when it became clear that the Jaguars were pursuing a trade for Tim Tebow. From a PR standpoint, however, the Jaguars did exactly what they should have. They were one of the finalists to land Tim Tebow, and they weren't willing to overpay for him. It's a win-win because they didn't actually get Tebow (die-hards are satisfied), and the Jaguars made a legitimate effort to land Tebow (casual/Florida fans are satisfied).

I can't speak about the average fans' reaction, but Jaguars bloggers in general have been exceptionally happy with the development that the Jaguars will not be getting Tim Tebow. The national media has and will continue to throw the Jaguars under the proverbial bus, but who care?
