Free Agency: A New Game

As we all probably know by now, the Jaguars signed their first free agent yesterday. Paul Posluszny, linebacker, from the Buffalo Bills. I personally view him as a good/great linebacker who has not necessarily hit his ceiling yet. I believe he will become a pro bowl player here in Jacksonville (as long as he receives proper recognition). However, many have speculated we overpaid dearly for him. Did we really though?

Divisional Almanac: AFC South

Today is the day that I come out with my divisional almanac for the Jaguars' division. I'm trying to write an unbiased analysis of the division, and I think I did a pretty good job. This wraps up this series. I hoped you enjoyed the almanac, and hopefully it gave you some things to consider. Let's get to it.

Indianapolis Colts - (12-4)

I know this isn't a popular pick around here, but it's hard to say that the Jaguars will be able to de-throne the leagues most winningest team over the past decade. Peyton Manning may be the best to ever play as a quarterback in the NFL, and they won the division in 2010, despite tons of injuries.

This Week's Timeline for League Business

Written by Michael Clinton on .

The lockout is unofficially over and the fun stuff will begin Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET. Rejoice fantasy footballers and prepare for a hectic three days. Something ESPN Insider Adam Schefter described as Christmas and Thanksgiving being rolled into one big holiday.

ESPN is reporting the following updated schedule for the rest of the week:

On Monday, teams will receive the official free agent list and can expand their rosters to 90.

Divisional Almanac: AFC West

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and it's time to get back to the business of predicting the AFC. Today, we're taking a look at the AFC West, a division that has been a thorn in the Jaguars' side in recent years, especially those games played on the west coast.

San Diego Chargers - (11-5)

I really expect the Chargers to bounce back from one of their most upsetting seasons. They had the number one ranked offense and defense, but they were never able to put it together. The 2010 season had to be considered a failure, but the Chiefs don't exactly have a choke hold on the division. We should be welcoming the Chargers back to the playoffs in 2011.

Is the End Near for Peyton’s Career?

Written by John McGrath on .

It has been confirmed that Peyton Manning WILL NOT participate in the preseason.  For the first time in 13 years he could actually miss regular season games if his rehab from surgery for a bulging disc in his neck isn’t addressed soon. Peyton has never missed a game in his entire NFL career, ever.  You’d have to go back to his freshman year in college to find the last game he has missed.  His current streak of consecutive games played stands at 208.  I’m a Jaguars fan & even I have to admit that those stats are impressive.  13 years is an amazing amount of time to never miss a game for a QB, hell for any NFL player period.  Could it be coming to an end?  Could the one player that continually is a pain in the neck for the Jaguars actually have his career ended by his own pain in the neck?

Here we go again ladies and gentlemen, the third installment of our prospect watch for the 2011 National Football League Draft.  This list contains one of the best Wide Receivers to come out in a long time, a very special Cornerback, and a pass rushing specialist.  I hope you enjoy.
