ESPN indicates Maurice Jones-Drew reported to... the "Jaugars"

There are so many of us that love to hate on ESPN, and today, they gave us one more reason to poke a little fun.

H/T to our own Mike Tiscione for the screen shot find.

I know that spelling isn't everyone's strong suit, but you'd think they'd have that little red squiggly line below the word "Jaugars" when they typed it up. Then again, when news breaks, it's all about beating everyone else to the story, even if quality suffers.

Thoughts and observations from Maurice Jones-Drew's presser

I threw some tweets up as I watched Maurice Jones-Drew's presser this afternoon. Here's the highlights.

That's why you should be following @The_Jaggernaut on Twitter. Then you don't have to wait for me to throw tweets up on the site. It's a win, win situation.

DirecTV Sunday Ticket without satellite service

Written by Shane Clemons on .

While most of you probably live in the Jacksonville area, I know there are some of you out there, like me, that live away from Northern Florida. For out of town fans such as myself, DirecTV's Sunday Ticket package is a must.

This year, much like in the past, it is possible to get Sunday Ticket without getting DirecTV's satellite service. Sunday Ticket is also available via the Playstation 3 once again in 2012. At $250 for the online version only, it's pretty steep, but some things in life are a must have, and this is one of those things. Enjoy the season everyone.

Jaguars Defeat Falcons, 24-14

Written by Mike Tiscione on .

The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted the Atlanta Falcons at Everbank Field tonight, in the final game of the 2012 preseason. The Jaguars ran all over the Falcons, accumulating over 200 yards on the ground in a 24-14 victory in Jacksonville. The starters, who were projected to play only ten to twelve plays, played much more than that, before the Jaguars prepare to head into their regular season opener next weekend in Minnesota against the Vikings.

Preseason Preview - Falcons at Jaguars

Written by Mike Tiscione on .

The fourth and final preseason game has finally arrived, as the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1) will host the Atlanta Falcons (1-2) tonight at Everbank Field. While the final preseason game is the least exciting of the four, as most starters don’t even take the field, it’s important for those who are fighting for a roster spot. The regular season kicks off next weekend when the Jaguars head to Minnesota to play the Vikings, so don’t except the starters to see much action tonight.

Jaguars look to round out the preseason with a win; 5 things to watch

Written by Shane Clemons on .

Blaine Gabbert's number one goal tonight should be to simply stay healthy.

Tonight, the Jaguars will be rounding out their preseason schedule in Jacksonville. The goal is to evaluate young players while keeping the starters healthy. Here's tonight's 5 things to watch.

1) Watch the first teamers

Usually, you'd be evaluating how the offense moves the ball and how dominant the defense is, but tonight it's all about staying healthy. The Jaguars' goal for their starters is to get them warmed up and get them out of the game healthy.

2) Special teamers

This is the unit that has a lot of fringe guys. Keep an eye out for anyone that stands out, especially late in the game. A lot of these guys won't make the final roster, but there's certainly some practice squad guys out there.

3) Kickers

If there's a position that's easy to evaluate, even in preseason play, it's the kickers. Just look for them to have a good tune up night this evening.

4) Returners

Mike Thomas is a solid punt returner, but do the Jaguars really want such a featured player taking back punts? Watch to see if Jalen Parmele has a good night fielding kicks.

5) Don't burn the popcorn

When you're cooking tonight, make sure you're not setting your house on fire. There's a strong likelihood that you'll fall asleep during the game, and it's a fire hazard to cook you're sleeping. Safety first!

Rashad Jennings to start week 1 in Minnesota

Written by Shane Clemons on .

Rashad_Jennings_Giants

It appears that Rashad Jennings, as was expected by many, will be the Jaguars' starting running back week 1 against the Vikings, even if Maurice Jones-Drew finally makes it into camp in the near future.

So far this preseason, Jennings has 175 yards on 36 attempts for an average of 4.9 yards per carry.

I'm a firm believer that the Jaguars will be a stronger football team once Maurice Jones-Drew gets into camp and learns the Jaguars' new offense, but I also believe that Jennings has the ability to be a starting running back on many, if not most, teams in the NFL. Yes, the Jaguars would be better off starting an up-to-speed Maurice Jones-Drew, but that's not who's available right now.

If Jones-Drew gets into camp soon, he'll likely reclaim his starting position in week 2 or 3 of the regular season, but if I'm the Jaguars, I'm comfortable starting Rashad Jennings against the Minnesota Vikings.
