Friday came and went, and no Friday Thought Drop was posted. Shame on me. It's been a somewhat busy week, and that's made it fly by. There are a couple bigger developments to hit on today. Those include Hines Ward, stadium safety, and the CBA… of course. Let's jump right in.
First we'll touch on the tragedy of a baseball fan falling out of the stands this week, and later dying due to the injuries he sustained. It's one of those freak things that should never happen. Hopefully stadiums reconsider the height of their railings, and this never happens again.
The Jacksonville Sharks are now 13-2, and they've clinched home field advantage in the playoffs. They play Dallas tonight at 7 PM in Jacksonville.
Hines Ward was apparently arrested this morning for driving under the influence. I hope I don't eat my words here, but it's much easier, as a fan, to cheer for a team that doesn't currently have arrest issues as some teams tend to have. The Jaguars are a positive influence on the community. I know that football is about wins and losses, but I have to be able to support the organization and it's players. As a Jaguars fan, that's easy to do.
SI's Jim Trotter said that there could be a new CBA by the middle of next week. While I think that's a little too optimistic, I'm glad that the two sides have seemingly been able to put their differences aside, and get down to work. Football should be just around the corner.
That's all I've got for this week. As always, have a great weekend, and stay classy.
