2011 Pre-Season Power Rankings

Part of the joy of the NFL season is reveling in the unimportant, frivolous task of prediction. While power rankings don't exactly fall under the category of prediction, they are both meaningless and often controversial. I participate in ranking teams for the same reason that I participate in creating mock drafts.
They're too damn fun. Let's go.
- New England Patriots Their personnel moves never ceise to amaze me.
- Green Bay Packers Young champions still on the rise.
- Philadelphia Eagles Bold free agency moves.
- Pittsburgh Steelers Terrifying defense.
- New Orleans Saints How did the Seahawks beat them?
- New York Jets A lot to prove.
- Atlanta Falcons Matt Ryan will either make or break them.
- Chicago Bears Curious team.
- San Diego Chargers Even more curious.
- Indianapolis Colts Window closing?
- Baltimore Ravens Tough luck in free agency.
- New York Giants We'll see.
- Jacksonville Jaguars Closing the gap.
- Houston Texans Which Texans will we see this year?
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers Young and talented.
- Detroit Lions How much of this is hype?
- Kansas City Chiefs Falling back to Earth.
- Dallas Cowboys Did they exist in free agency?
- Miami Dolphins Caught in the wrong division.
- Cleveland Browns Also caught in the wrong division.
- St. Louis Rams The right division.
- Arizona Cardinals Kolb should help, a lot.
- Buffalo Bills Just not looking very good.
- Seattle Seahawks How did they beat the Saints?
- Washington Redskins One big mess.
- Denver Broncos Quarterback controversy is never good.
- Minnesota Vikings McNabb should help some.
- Tennessee Titans Too many new parts.
- San Francisco 49ers Who's the quarterback going to be?
- Oakland Raiders *Sigh*
- Carolina Panthers Lacking the overall talent to succeed.
- Cincinnati Bengals Is ownership okay with losing?
